I am writing after what seems like ages. Just a few months ago, I was posting here 3-4 times a week and would have never thought that I would ever get too busy to blog. But life has several surprises in store for us and I am always the one to embrace them with open arms. Lots of things are happening on my end, which is keeping me away from my camera and computer. I am here today to just share some of these updates with you all.
Those who follow me on FB, Twitter or Instagram might already know that we were away in the mountains of Ladakh for a little vacation. Being my usual self, I packed my faithful companion, my DSLR and expected to be capturing the stunning beauty of the Himalayas. But something totally unexpected happened this time! The majestic snow capped mountains of Leh, Ladakh, left me completely speechless and within hours of landing there I realized that I wanted to keep my camera aside and just soak in everything! I would have never been able to do justice through my photos… Ladakh is something one has to experience. I have shared those very few photos I took on my Facebook Page. Click HERE to see them.
We had a wonderful time in our little guest house which was surrounded by apple and apricot trees. Unfortunately none of the fruits were ripe yet but we enjoyed eating delicious home cooked meals using the freshest mountain vegetables grown right there in their vegetable patch. The fresh air and healthy food left us fully rejuvenated.
As soon as we came back from our holiday we have started work on our house renovation, which we have been planning from almost a year now.
There have been a lot of small little changes we wanted to make to our house but we kept postponing it. But after we found out we were expecting our second child, we decided we wanted to be done with all the work as soon as possible as after November we want to be able to just sit back and enjoy the new addition to our family. So as I am typing this sitting in my aunt’s place, walls are being broken in our house. It might take more than a month for us to get everything set up and get back to our routine.
I am also in the middle of a very interesting project right now. I do not want to talk much about it right away but lets me just say that it’s a book I am working on as a food photographer and a consultant. It’s shaping up very well and fortunately most of the work is almost done. I still have a big chunk of it to finish, which I want to concentrate on right now. I can’t wait to share more details about it with you all.
My baby belly is growing by the day and I am enjoying every single moment of it. When I was pregnant with Alaru, I did little more than sitting and day dreaming about my little baby and talking to her all day long. Unfortunately I don’t have the same luxury of time this time around. Between everything else that is happening in my life I definitely don’t feel like I am putting much feet up as much as I would like. These few months of pregnancy are very precious to me.
Of course Alaru is oblivious to everything that is happening around her. She is busy painting, singing, playing, watching her favorite cartoons, building houses and making a mess with play dough! Keeping everything normal for her is not easy for me right now.
All my energy is basically just about enough for day today survival! Through all this craziness I am still cooking all my meals and snacks(not in my kitchen though) as I am very serious about eating healthy through this pregnancy. I really wish I could share more of my recipes but unfortunately I don’t have any time for it right now.
I am writing this quick post to request you all to bear with me for some more time. Hopefully I’ll be back soon with sometime exciting.
Until then, happy cooking and eating!
