Blogging has done a lot of great things to my life. Craving high calorie foods all the time is not one of them! I have subscribed to several blogs and I read about something delicious and mouthwatering every single day! I also come across hundreds ‘I am eating/baking/cooking ……….’ tweets a day from my fellow bloggers! Being the foodie that I am I see myself craving most of them!

I can resist any craving but not chocolate! Thanks to my new blogging world I crave for it more often than earlier. I find myself wanting something chocolaty ‘RIGHT NOW’! I can’t possibly bake chocolate cakes and muffins every day! That leaves me with simple, quick, 5 minutes chocolate dessert options which can satisfy my chocolate cravings…

Necessity is indeed the mother of invention! Lol… I came up with this super simple chocolate pudding recipe which has no milk, no butter, no cream and no fancy ingredients! If you want a decadent chocolate dessert after lunch all you need is 5 minutes before you set the table for lunch and you will have this delectable delight waiting for you after your meal!!

It’s silky, smooth and very very chocolaty! Beware!! This is only for serious chocolate lovers! I don’t think I need to tell you anything more! Here’s the rescue chocolate recipe for your never ending chocolate cravings!!

  • Water 1 ½ cups
  • 4 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4-6 tbsp of brown sugar
  • 3-4 tbsp of corn flour/corn starch
  • 4-6 tbsp of strawberry liqueur (optional)
  • Chocolate shavings (optional)

Combine water, sugar and cocoa powder in a vessel and mix well. This might take a minute but make sure everything is dissolves and there are no lumps. Place the vessel on the stove and bring it to a boil.  Mix the corn flour with a few table spoons of water and slowing add it to the boiling chocolate mixture. Boil the mixture in low flame continuously stirring it. Turn off the heat as soon as it has thickened enough.  Add the strawberry liqueur and mix well. You can add any alcohol of your choice or completely skip it.  Pour it into serving bowl and refrigerate for 20-30 minutes. You can even cheat and stick it in the freezer if you can’t wait ;)

Once cooled completely decorate with chocolate shavings or fruits of your choice and serve :)

  • With 4 tbsp of cocoa powder this pudding is very chocolaty and slightly bitter. Reduce the cocoa if you want a lighter version.
  • Taste the pudding before you let it cool down and add more sugar if you like your pudding sweeter.
