Double Chocolate Oat Bars (Vegan, Oil-free & Refined Sugar Free with Just 4 Ingredients)

{Due to a recent virus attack I lost a whole bunch of recipe on my blog. I am slowly working on posting them back one by one. I am going to start with the recipes I am getting most requests for. If you remember/want to try one of my earlier recipes which is now not in this blog please write to be at and i’ll try to post it as soon as possible. I am basically just going to re-post the recipe as it was. So some of the content might not be so relevant today but my intention is to get them all back  and I  have over 80 posts to re-blog. Thank you! }

Double Chocolate Oat Bars

I have told you all about my freezer always having some frozen bananas, haven’t I?

Every now and then, it’s become a habit for me to pull it out and bake when I crave for something sweet & snacky. Banana replaces sugar so well in this craving of mine!

This time I made a Double Chocolate Oat Bar! I experimented making these bars using only 4 ingredients. I wanted to see how much I could simplify it. Out of 4 ingredients, 2 are chocolate and the remaining 2 or oats and banana!

Double Chocolate Oat Bars

Considering how simple they are with just 4 ingredients, these granola bars taste rich and chocolaty. They can satisfy even the strongest chocolate cravings 🙂 They are mildly sweet and slightly bitter from the dark chocolate and cocoa. Make sure to use overripe sweet bananas for best results. These bars chewy and soft and almost like cake. They are super quick and easy to make.

Since it’s been very hot here in Bangalore right now, I refrigerated these bars and they taste almost like candy bars when cold! Freeze them and they’ll taste even better! My Banana hating brother certified these bars and said he can hardly taste the bananas in them.

I am sure most of you already have these ingredients on hand so what are you waiting for? Make them today 🙂

    How would the baking/recipe differ if I was to use steel cut oats. I only have steel cut oats in the house.

  • Hello

    Hi, I just made these and omitted the chocolate chips, but mine are flat and quire moist on the inside but hard on the outside? I used rolled oats instead – is this why mine are flatter??
