Spicy Indian Sweet Potato
I wasn’t a great fan of sweet potato as a kid, but I do have some beautiful memories associated with it. We lived in our farm house till I was 4 years old and used to cook with firewood back then. After the busy morning of cooking breakfast and lunch, our kitchen fire would be turned off and once in a while my mom would throw in some sweet potatoes, regular potatoes or even onion into the hot coal for an evening snack. Vegetables would get cooked slowly in the hot coal and the nutty, smoky aroma from the coal, charred dark skin and slow cooking would result in the best tasting roasted vegetables. We all enjoyed them with our evening coffee. According to me that is really the best way to eat sweet potato.

I’m surprised Indian sweet potatoes are very similar to Japanese sweet potatoes! The color and looks exactly same. So I can imagine how delicious these sweet potato is… it’s my favorite food (along with potatoes). I’ve never had it spicy, and I’m so curious how it tastes like!

This looks great! I actually just posted an Indian potato dish myself, but I love the sweet potato here for the extra nutritional value. Yum!
They look beautiful!! Just a question: do you eat also the skin of the potatoes? Because I usually peel them but I’ve heard that the skin is edible and tasty too…
simple yet delicious, pics look stunning
I once bought one of those potatoes by accident thinking it was a sweet potato. It was still good though kinda like a cross between a yellow potato and a sweet potato.
