{Due to a recent virus attack I lost a whole bunch of recipe on my blog. I am slowly working on posting them back one by one. I am going to start with the recipes I am getting most requests for. Sweet & Spicy Tahini Salad dressing

 

My love for salads continues even after eating too many of them last couple of weeks. In fact I am enjoying them a lot more now. I am getting more an more creative with them trying a variety of different dressings and toppings.

After making the Spicy Tahini I couldn’t wait to try a dressing with it as I was curious to see how the spices in it would work in my dressing. It surely didn’t disappoint! This slightly sweet, tangy and spicy salad dressing was refreshingly different from many other salad dressings I have tried.

 

Sweet & Spicy Tahini Salad Dressing

 

This is a really quick recipe if you have the spicy tahini ready and is sure to perk up your regular green salad. I used it over a simple salad with cucumber, bell peppers, baby corn and some finely chopped mint. This tahini salad dressing is really creamy and flavorful and is a great way replace heavy cream or cheese based dressings. Adjust the flavors according to your taste to make it more sweet or tangy. What I also observed is that the same dressing if made with lesser water can be a great dip for vegetables or chips for my next party! Get creative and try variations and you will be amazed at how versatile salad dressings can be.

 

Sweet & Spicy Tahini Salad Dressing

 

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp spicy tahini
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup/honey
  • 1 tbsp  olive oil
  • 1/2 tbsp of fresh lime juice
  • 4 tbsp water

 

Mix all the ingredients together well in a blender to make a thick creamy dressing and serve it over a salad.  You can keep it refrigerated for up to a week in a airtight bottle.
